BMA supports the Prince's START

27/09/2010 | Prince Charles set off this week with his green Royal train to take the message about water and energy efficiency, amongst other things, across the UK. The BMA is always pleased to see the important subject of sustainability being discussed and Prince's tour of the UK which is aimed at getting people to reduce waste and conserve energy, is great news. "We are always pleased to support any eco-initiative," commented Yvonne Orgill, Chief Executive of the BMA. "The BMA's Water Efficient Product Labelling Scheme is becoming increasingly recognised as a major influencer and we are delighted that the scheme features on the Prince's START website. http://www.startuk.org/save-water/water-saving-products.aspx Before boarding the Royal train, Prince Charles said: "What I hope to get across, to as many people as possible, is that however awful a predicament we face with climate change and the unsustainable use of the natural resources that keep us all alive, we aren't going to get anywhere by telling everyone what they need to stop doing. So this week is going to be about the things that we can all start doing for our own benefit, for the benefit of everyone who shares this planet with us and for the benefit of our children and their children too." "Water efficiency is all about using the most efficient bathroom products for the job," says Orgill. "It's not about restricting use. We are delighted to support the Prince in his initiative." http://www.water-efficiencylabel.org.uk/
