European Water Label appoints first Sales and Marketing Agen

15/02/2016 | The innovative European Water Labelling Scheme continues its relentless growth across the continent with the appointment of its first European Sales and Marketing Agency. “We are delighted to announce the appointment of our first Agency,” says Yvonne Orgill, Managing Director of the Keele University-based Scheme. “Maite Serra, Secretary General of Agrival, of Valencia, has been signed to act as our sole agent in Spain to promote the use of the European Water Label in the manufacturing and retail sectors, and to administer the rapid growth we are anticipating in the country.” Maite Serra heads Agrival (Asociacion National De Fabricantes de Griferiay Valvuleria) the National Trade body for taps, showers and valves in Spain. “Joining forces with the staff at the European Water Label is a major step for us,” says Serra. “It’s the beginning of a new era for our industry in Spain and we are thrilled to have been appointed. We intend to grow the voluntary labelling scheme in our part of the world to give our consumers the information they need to make an informed choice when they shop for new bathroom and kitchen products. It is also vitally important that we educate our public about water use since Spain does regularly suffer drought conditions. The labelling scheme helps us spread the word.” Agrival has been the Spanish Association for Taps and Valves since 1977 and is well placed to promote the European Water Label. One of its main goals is to develop technical resources and encourage Research and Development. Its members participate actively in Standards and Certification Committees. Agrival is a member of the Spanish Federation for Bathroom Equipment Manufacturers (FEBAN) which represents the Spanish bathroom sector as a whole. The voluntary European Water Label Scheme, gives both the consumer and the industry professional alike, all the necessary water usage characteristics of bathroom and kitchen products. The water consumption for each product can be seen at a glance and the information provided can be used to aid the choice of bathroom and kitchen components. The Scheme is an undeniable success, is recognised by Government, is low cost, maintains choice, and does exactly what it is designed to do - inform and educate. www.europeanwaterlabel.eu Maite Serra mserra@agrival.es Secretaria General, Agrival (Asociacion National De Fabricantes de Griferiay Valvuleria)
